Lilico's 1844 bar and the next door Mediterranean Bistro & Bar in Barnstaple beautifully capture the essence of the continent. The inspirational designs of owners Chris and Wanda, coupled with instant charm and sensational food make these unique businesses an instant success and hugely popular with the locals as a central meeting and eating place.
The couple previously ran the successful Chambers Wine Bar and already had a relationship with David Baglow of Armada before setting out on their new Lilico's venture. Armada followed bar 1844 through from start to finish funding the entire fit-out. Then when the premises next door became available, Chris and Wanda snapped it up to fulfil their ambitions of creating a continental bistro & bar which Armada were again more than happy to fund.
